Perfekt with "haben"
The Perfekt is the most important past tense in spoken German. Formula: haben (conjugated) + past participle at the end of the sentence. Most verbs take "haben".

Example: Ich habe Pizza gegessen. (I ate pizza.) Du hast viel gearbeitet. (You worked a lot.)
The sentence bracket
The auxiliary is in position 2, the past participle right at the end: Ich habe gestern Pizza gegessen.
When "haben"?
Most verbs, especially verbs with an object (accusative): essen, trinken, machen, kaufen, lesen, sehen, spielen.
Common mistakes
- ❌ Ich habe gegessen Pizza → ✅ Ich habe Pizza gegessen (participle to the end).
- ❌ Ich bin Pizza gegessen → ✅ Ich habe Pizza gegessen.
