Practice: imperative & directions

In this exercise you review the imperative and giving directions together. When you ask for the way, you often start with "Entschuldigung", and the answer is usually in the imperative.

Dialogue:

• "Entschuldigung, wo ist der Bahnhof?" (Excuse me, where is the train station?)
• "Gehen Sie geradeaus und biegen Sie dann rechts ab. Der Bahnhof ist links." (Go straight ahead and then turn right. The station is on the left.)
• "Vielen Dank!" (Thank you very much!)

More examples: Nimm die erste Straße links! (Take the first street on the left!) · Geht geradeaus bis zur Ampel! (Go straight ahead to the traffic light!)

This is how you combine the polite question with a clear direction in the imperative.
