Adjective declension without an article
Without an article, the gender information is missing. So the adjective takes the article's ending (strong declension): the adjective ending looks almost like the definite article (der → -er, die → -e, das → -es).
This happens often with uncountable substances and quantities (Wein, Milch, Brot, Wasser) and in the plural without an article.

Note:
- No article → the adjective shows the gender (strong declension).
- Endings resemble the definite article (-er/-e/-es).
- Accusative masculine: -en (guten Wein).

- Frisches Brot schmeckt gut. (Fresh bread tastes good.)
- Ich trinke gern kalte Milch. (I like drinking cold milk.)
- Er trinkt guten Wein. (accusative masculine – He drinks good wine.)
