The accusative: pronouns
Personal pronouns also have an accusative form. Only "sie", "es" and "Sie" stay the same.

| ich | mich (me) |
| du | dich (you) |
| er | ihn (him) |
| sie | sie (her) |
| es | es (it) |
| wir | uns (us) |
| ihr | euch (you pl.) |
| sie/Sie | sie/Sie (them/you) |
Example: Ich liebe dich. (I love you.) Sie sieht ihn. (She sees him.) Er versteht uns nicht. (He doesn't understand us.)
Position in the sentence
The accusative pronoun usually comes right after the verb: Ich sehe dich. · Kennst du ihn?
Important: "ihn" ≠ "ihm"
- ihn = accusative (Ich sehe ihn.)
- ihm = dative (Ich helfe ihm.) → comes in Unit 9.
